Sharks 4 Kids
The goal of Sharks4Kids is to create a new generation of shark advocates through access to a dynamic range of educational materials. Curriculum, games and activities will allow teachers to integrate shark education into their science programs on an introductory, intermediate or advanced level. Students can access games, activities and info sheets to satisfy their own curiosity about sharks. Photos and videos from scientists and conservationists bring an exciting element into the classroom and show students the beauty of the ocean.
Ocean Clean Up
The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization, is developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. When we have achieved our goal of a 90% reduction in ocean plastic, our project is finished and our work will be done.
University Of Miami Shark Research
The SRC team is made up of University of Miami faculty, staff and students from a variety of disciplines, including science, communication, law, education and engineering. The core science is overseen by faculty, but PhD students provide the projects from which specific research and educational activities are based. UM undergraduates work on projects as part of their academic degree requirements or for volunteer internships. Student interns are the backbone of the program, playing a major role in helping carry out activities, training and leading high school student participants in the field, lab, and classrooms. In making waves, SRC is lucky to partner with exceptional scientists, policy makers, journalists and educators.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center
More than 40 years ago, long-time Juno Beach resident Eleanor Fletcher started what is now Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The center now hosts thousands of school children each year through field trips, outreach programs, summer camp and other educational experiences. In addition, more than 300,000 visitors come to the center each year to see the exhibits and the sea turtle hospital.
